Partner, author and co-head of Bain’s Global Strategy practice, London office

James AllenJames Allen is a senior partner in Bain & Company's London office and recognized as a leading expert in developing global corporate and business unit strategy. He is co-head of Bain’s Global Strategy practice, the founder of the Customer practice and also a member of Bain & Company's European Consumer Products practice.

With over 25 years of consulting experience, Mr. Allen has worked extensively for multi-nationals in consumer products, oil and gas, technology and telecoms, healthcare and other industries. He has advised clients on the development of global growth strategies, emerging market entry strategies and turnaround strategies.

Mr. Allen joined Bain & Company in Boston in 1988, transferring to Moscow in 1991 to lead Bain’s emerging Russian practice and relocating to London in 1995 to head up the office's Consumer Products and Strategy practices.

In addition to Repeatability (HBR Press, March 2012), Mr. Allen has co-authored Profit from the Core (HBR Press, 2001 and 2010). He has also written numerous articles, including: "The great repeatable model" (Harvard Business Review), "Tuning into the voice of the customer" (Harvard Management Update), and "The consumer of 2020" (Global Agenda). He speaks at many conferences on growth strategy.

Mr. Allen lives in London with his wife and three children.
